Naomi A. Sachs, PhD, MLA, EDAC is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Maryland and Founding Director of the Therapeutic Landscapes Network (www.healinglandscapes.org).

Naomi has published and presented nationally and internationally on the positive role of nature in human health. She is co-author with Clare Cooper Marcus of the book Therapeutic Landscapes: An Evidence-Based Approach to Designing Healing Gardens and Restorative Outdoor Spaces. She is Co-Editor of the peer-reviewed Health Environments Research & Design Journal (HERD).

Naomi earned a PhD in Architecture at Texas A&M University, a Master of Landscape Architecture (MLA) from the University of California, Berkeley and a BA in Women Studies from Brown University, as well as a Graduate Certificate in Historic Preservation and Regionalism from the University of New Mexico School of Architecture and Planning.
